Midjourney explorations

2023 has been defined by many things. One of those has been the rise of generative AI. Tools like ChatGPT and Midjourney have captivated people’s imagination and creativity. If you haven’t heard or used these tools, then you are missing out.

The basic premise of these new AI-powered interfaces is the ability to take in a text-based prompt, (a free-text command, like, write me a polite email response to x, or imagine a giraffe dressed in a suit) and output something reasonable and often quite remarkable. Both these AI bots have been trained on massive datasets and continue to learn and grow through the respective platform’s clever and free user-feedback interface design.

I will not attempt to explain these technologies any further, but instead will showcase here some of my own explorations of Midjourney.

The themes I’ve had some success with are: portraits, fantasy, landscapes, and pop art. Other themes seem to be (currently v5.2) a hit-and-miss, but I’m sure will improve soon enough

Enjoy!
